As Electrical Components International approaches its 65th anniversary, we enter into an exciting period for the company. ECI has become a leading provider of wire harnesses, subassemblies and value-added assembly services to a broad base of customers and has built a leading position within the North American white goods industry. The business has experienced strong and consistent growth, and we have embarked upon a number of strategic initiatives that will both enhance our value proposition and expand our ability to serve our customers globally.
In the past few years, ECI has made significant steps in our strategic plan to expand globally and diversify our product offerings. We’ve closed many acquisitions, effectively doubling the size of our organization and customer base. We’ve built a state-of-the-art facilities in Futian, China and Tangier, Morocco to expand our geographic reach and improve efficiency. We opened facilities in Juarez, Mexico specifically designed to broaden our product offering in specialty markets. ECI has now evolved into an over 700 million dollar company providing wire harnesses, power cords, wire leads and electro-mechanical assemblies to a variety of industries.
The ECI family has grown to over 17,000 people, with locations now spanning over 15 countries in North America, Europe and Asia. This group of highly skilled individuals led by a world-class management team continues to move the company toward better shared practices, and has created a stronger, more competitive ECI. We continue to internally improve our structure through Lean Manufacturing initiatives, not only on our shop floor, but throughout all departments, recently including our customer service and planning groups.
Throughout our evolution, we have never lost sight of the importance of our customers or the desire to provide them with a total cost solution. I believe that ECI is an excellent position to serve a broad array of customers globally and look forward to our continued success.
