This Privacy Policy applies to Personal Data that we process on and after that date.
The website you have entered (ecintl.com, its sub-domains, affiliated websites and applications, and any services available through them) (the "Site") is operated by Electrical Components International, Inc. and its affiliates ("ECI," "we," or "us"). We respect your privacy and recognize the importance of protecting data collected from you and about you. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect that data, and it applies to your use of the Site together with our Terms and Conditions.
ECI is a business-to-business manufacturer and supplier of electrical distribution systems and related products. We sell to original equipment manufacturers and other commercial customers. We do not sell products or services directly to consumers, the Site is not a retail or e-commerce site, and no purchase, payment, or other consumer financial transaction is conducted through it. The Personal Data we collect through the Site is principally business contact and professional information provided by representatives of our current and prospective customers, suppliers, distributors, and business partners, and by individuals who apply for employment with us. Where a Data Protection Law requires your consent before we process your Personal Data, we will obtain that consent separately, and your use of the Site alone is not treated as your consent.
In this Privacy Policy, "Personal Data" means information that identifies, relates to, describes, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular individual, and that is protected by an applicable privacy or data protection law. "Data Protection Laws" means the privacy and data protection laws applicable to our processing of Personal Data, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"); the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018 (together, the "UK GDPR") and the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 ("PECR"); the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CCPA") and the comprehensive consumer privacy laws of other U.S. states as they take effect; Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act ("PIPEDA"), Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, as amended by Law 25, and Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation ("CASL"); Mexico's Federal Law on Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties; China's Personal Information Protection Law; Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act; and Morocco's Law No. 09-08. ECI is not a financial institution, and we do not collect or process consumer financial account, payment card, or consumer health data through the Site.
Personal Data We Collect
Information You Provide
We collect Personal Data when you voluntarily provide it to us, such as when you submit an inquiry through our contact form, request information, register for an event, or apply for a position. This information typically includes your name, employer, job title, business email address, telephone number, and the content of your message or application. Providing this information is optional. You may choose not to provide it, but you may then be unable to use certain features of the Site.
Information Collected Automatically
When you access and use the Site, our technology and tools may automatically collect and record information about your device and your use of the Site, including your IP address, browser type, the make and model of the device used, unique device identifiers, the referring web page, pages visited, search terms, and the dates and times of your access. Depending on the jurisdiction, some of this information, such as your IP address and unique device identifiers, may itself constitute Personal Data, and we treat it accordingly.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
We and our service providers use cookies, pixel tags, clear GIFs, software development kits, and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember your preferences, and understand how the Site is used. Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit or applications you use. Depending on how they are configured, these technologies can recognize your browser or device across sessions and across websites, and the information they collect may constitute Personal Data. Our service providers receive that information in order to provide those services to us. We use strictly necessary, functional, and analytics cookies. We do not use cookies or similar technologies for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising.
The Site provides a cookie preference tool that allows you to accept, reject, or manage non-essential cookies at any time. Strictly necessary cookies are required for the Site to function and cannot be declined through that tool. Where Data Protection Laws require it, including in the European Economic Area and, under PECR, in the United Kingdom, we obtain your consent through our cookie banner before storing or gaining access to non-essential cookies or similar technologies on your device, and you may withdraw that consent at any time through the preference tool. You may also block or delete cookies through your browser settings, although certain features of the Site may not then work as intended.
Some content embedded on the Site may be served by third-party providers, which may use cookies or similar technologies to collect data about you. Data collection and use by those third parties is governed by their own privacy policies.
Categories of Personal Data We Collect and Disclose
In the preceding twelve (12) months, we have collected the following categories of Personal Data: identifiers, such as name, business postal address, email address, telephone number, IP address, and unique device identifiers; commercial information, such as products or services purchased, obtained, or considered; professional or employment-related information, such as employer, job title, and information contained in a resume or job application; and internet or other electronic network activity information relating to your interaction with the Site. We collect this information directly from you, automatically from your browser or device, and from our affiliates and service providers. We disclose these categories to our affiliates and to service providers that act on our behalf, for the business purposes described in this Privacy Policy. We do not sell or share Personal Data, and we do not use Personal Data collected through the Site for targeted advertising, cross-context behavioral advertising, or profiling.
How We Use Personal Data
We use the Personal Data described above to administer and operate the Site and to provide an efficient and meaningful experience. Specifically, we may use it to:
- respond to your inquiry, request, or application and fulfill the purpose for which you provided the information;
- operate, maintain, secure, analyze, and improve the Site and our products, events, and services;
- enable features of the Site, store your preferences, and troubleshoot technical issues;
- notify you of changes to the Site or to this Privacy Policy;
- provide information about our products, services, and events to business contacts, subject to your right to opt out at any time;
- carry out our obligations and enforce our rights arising from arrangements between you and us;
- comply with applicable law and legal process and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims; and

Our communications are directed to individuals in their professional capacity as representatives of current or prospective business customers, suppliers, and partners. We do not engage in consumer retail marketing, and we do not use Personal Data collected through the Site to build advertising profiles or to market consumer products to you as an individual. If you no longer wish to receive communications from ECI, you may opt out by following the instructions in the message or by contacting us.
Legal Bases for Processing
Where Data Protection Laws require a lawful basis for processing, we rely on one or more of the following: your consent, which you may withdraw at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal; the performance of a contract with you, or steps taken at your request before entering into a contract; compliance with our legal obligations; our legitimate interests in operating, securing, analyzing, and improving the Site and our business, where those interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms; and the protection of the vital interests of you or another natural person.
Where we rely on consent, we obtain it through an affirmative action that you take, such as selecting an unchecked box, accepting non-essential cookies through our cookie preference tool, or subscribing to a mailing list. Silence, pre-ticked boxes, and your continued use of the Site do not constitute consent.
How We Share Personal Data
We share Personal Data only as described below. We do not sell Personal Data, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Affiliates, subsidiaries, and our parent company. We may share Personal Data collected through the Site with our subsidiaries, our affiliated companies, and our parent company and the other companies in its group, including in the United Kingdom, for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and for group governance, audit, and reporting purposes.
- Service providers. We may provide Personal Data to service providers that perform services for us, such as website hosting, analytics, communications, and recruiting. They may access, store, and process Personal Data only on our documented instructions and under contractual confidentiality and security obligations.
- Event and trade show partners. In connection with trade shows, industry conferences, webinars, and similar business events, we may share the business contact information you provide with co-sponsors, exhibitors, or event organizers. We will tell you at the point of registration when your information will be shared in this way.
- Law enforcement, legal process, and safety. We may disclose Personal Data to comply with applicable law, regulation, or legal process. Where we receive a request for Personal Data from a government, law enforcement, or private party, we will assess the validity and scope of the request, will disclose only the Personal Data reasonably necessary to respond, and will notify you of the request unless we are legally prohibited from doing so or we reasonably determine that notice would create a risk of injury or of the destruction or concealment of evidence.
- Corporate transactions and professional advisors. We may share Personal Data with our auditors, attorneys, insurers, bankers, and other professional advisors under appropriate confidentiality protections. If ECI is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, receivership, dissolution, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, Personal Data may be transferred as part of that transaction or proposed transaction. We will require the recipient to honor the commitments made in this Privacy Policy with respect to Personal Data transferred to it, or to provide you with notice and, where required by Data Protection Laws, an opportunity to object or to consent, before your Personal Data becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.
Your Choices and Opt-Out Preference Signals
You may manage non-essential cookies at any time through the cookie preference tool on the Site or through your browser settings, opt out of our communications by following the instructions in any message, and withdraw a consent you have given by contacting us. Some browsers transmit "do not track" (DNT) signals. There is no common industry or legal standard for recognizing or honoring DNT signals, and we do not currently respond to them. Because we do not sell or share Personal Data or engage in targeted advertising, there is no sale, sharing, or targeted advertising to opt out of; where Data Protection Laws require it, we recognize and honor the Global Privacy Control and other universal opt-out preference signals transmitted by your browser or device.
Security and Retention of Personal Data
We maintain a written information security program that includes administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect Personal Data, consistent with applicable law. No method of transmission over the Internet and no method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we therefore cannot and do not guarantee the absolute security of Personal Data. Nothing in this Privacy Policy requires you to assume the risk of, or operates as a waiver of, any right or remedy available to you under applicable law that may not be waived by agreement. If we become aware of a security incident affecting your Personal Data, we will notify you and the applicable supervisory authorities as and when required by applicable law.
We retain Personal Data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to satisfy any legal, tax, accounting, audit, or recordkeeping requirement, to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims, and to enforce our agreements. In determining the appropriate retention period, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the Personal Data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure, the purposes for which we process it, and whether we can achieve those purposes by other means. Where you ask us to delete Personal Data, we will do so unless an exception under applicable Data Protection Laws permits or requires us to retain it, in which case we will tell you which exception we are relying on and delete the data when the exception no longer applies. When Personal Data is no longer needed, we securely delete, destroy, or de-identify it.
International Transfers of Personal Data
ECI operates globally and maintains operations in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Spain, Poland, Morocco, Thailand, China, and the Philippines, and our parent company and its group companies are located in the United Kingdom. Personal Data we collect may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in those countries, and in other countries in which our service providers operate, whose data protection laws may differ from those of your country of residence.
Your Privacy Rights
European Economic Area and United Kingdom
If you are located in the European Economic Area, or in the United Kingdom to the extent the UK GDPR applies to our processing, you have the right to be informed about the collection and use of your Personal Data; to access it; to have inaccurate data corrected; to have your data erased; to restrict its processing; to data portability; to object to processing, including at any time to processing for direct marketing purposes under Article 21(2) of the GDPR and of the UK GDPR; to withdraw your consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal; not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing, including profiling, that produces legal or similarly significant effects concerning you; and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority, which in the United Kingdom is the Information Commissioner's Office.
We will respond to requests without undue delay and no later than one month after receipt. We may extend that period by two further months where necessary, taking into account the complexity and number of the requests, and we will inform you of any such extension and the reasons for it. Where the UK GDPR applies to our processing, the same rights and response periods apply.
United States
If you are a resident of California or of another U.S. state that has enacted a comprehensive consumer privacy law, and to the extent that law applies to our processing of your Personal Data, you have the right to confirm whether we are processing your Personal Data and to access it; to correct inaccuracies; to delete Personal Data; to obtain a copy in a portable and, to the extent technically feasible, readily usable format; to opt out of the sale of Personal Data, of targeted advertising, and of profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects; to limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information and to withdraw consent to the processing of sensitive data; not to be discriminated or retaliated against for exercising any of these rights; and to appeal a decision declining to act on your request.
We do not sell or share Personal Data, we do not use it for targeted advertising or profiling, and we do not disclose Personal Data to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes other than those permitted under applicable law. Because ECI sells to business customers rather than to consumers, most of the Personal Data we process is business contact information relating to individuals acting as representatives of our customers, suppliers, and business partners. Several state privacy laws exclude that data from their scope; the CCPA does not, and we therefore extend the rights described in this section to California business contacts as well.
Canada
If you are located in Canada, PIPEDA and, for individuals in Quebec, the Quebec Privacy Act apply to our processing of your Personal Data. You have the right to be informed of the existence, use, and disclosure of your Personal Data and to access it; to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information; to withdraw your consent, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice; and, in Quebec, to request that your Personal Data cease to be disseminated and to receive it in a structured, commonly used technological format. We obtain consent as required by those laws. You may exercise these rights as described below, and you may also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, in Quebec, to the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.
How to Submit a Request
You may exercise any of the rights described above by writing to us at the address below. We will take reasonable steps to verify your identity before fulfilling your request, and an authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf upon proof of authorization. We will respond within the period required by applicable law, generally forty-five (45) days for requests under U.S. state privacy laws, subject to one permitted extension of which we will notify you. If we decline to act on your request, you may appeal that decision by contacting us with the subject line "Privacy Request Appeal." We will respond in writing within the timeframe required by applicable law and, if we deny the appeal, we will provide you with a method to contact your state attorney general.
Automated Decision-Making
We do not use Personal Data collected through the Site to make decisions based solely on automated processing, including profiling, that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning you. If that changes, we will update this Privacy Policy, describe the logic involved and the significance and consequences of the processing, and provide any opt-out, appeal, or human review right required by applicable law.
Children
The Site is directed to businesses and is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from children under the age of 13, and we do not sell or share the Personal Data of individuals under 16 years of age. If you believe that a child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us and we will delete that data promptly.
Employees, Job Applicants, and Business Contacts
Personal Data that we collect from and about our employees, contractors, job applicants, and the personnel of our business partners is subject to applicable employment and privacy laws, including the CCPA. We provide those individuals with a separate notice at collection describing the categories of Personal Data we collect, the purposes for which we use each category, and the applicable retention periods. This Privacy Policy governs Personal Data collected through the Site.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may amend this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the way we use Personal Data or changes in Data Protection Laws. Any amended information will apply from the date it is posted on the Site. We will provide notice of material changes by posting the updated Privacy Policy with a revised "last modified" date and, where required by Data Protection Laws, by providing direct notice to you or obtaining your consent before the change takes effect. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically, and we will provide a copy of any prior version on request.

ECI takes seriously any complaint we receive about our use of Personal Data. We will acknowledge receipt of a complaint within ten (10) business days of receipt and will respond substantively within forty-five (45) days, subject to any extension permitted by applicable law. Any Personal Data we receive with an inquiry or complaint will be used only to manage and address it and to check the level of service we provide. If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority; in the United Kingdom, that authority is the Information Commissioner's Office. General Provisions
This Privacy Policy is a disclosure statement. It is not a contract, it does not create any contractual right or obligation, and it does not create any right in, or confer any benefit on, any third party. Nothing in this Privacy Policy limits, waives, or modifies any right or remedy available to you under Data Protection Laws that may not be limited, waived, or modified by agreement. To the extent any provision of this Privacy Policy conflicts with a mandatory requirement of an applicable Data Protection Law, that requirement governs as to the individuals it protects. If any provision of this Privacy Policy is held to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
