Since our founding, ECI has continuously evolved to meet the changing needs of our customers. Through strategic acquisitions, geographic expansion, and targeted investments, we have grown into a global leader in complex electrical distribution systems.

1953

Burcliff Industries Founded

The company is established in St. Louis, Missouri, as Burcliff Industries, creating the foundation for what would later become Electrical Components International, Inc.

1994

Expanding Through Strategic Acquisitions

Burcliff Industries acquires General Electric’s captive wire harness business, consolidates 12 facilities into two operations in Mexico, and opens a greenfield facility in Chihuahua.

1998

Becoming ECI

The company is renamed Electrical Components International, Inc. (ECI), reflecting its expanding global presence and growing leadership in complex electrical distribution systems.

2000–2006

Building a Global Manufacturing Network

ECI expands with new facilities in Guangzhou and Huizhou, China, and Juárez, Mexico, while strengthening its wire harness capabilities through the acquisitions of Wire Harness Industries and Cabind.

2007–2018

Expanding Through Strategic Growth

ECI grows through the acquisitions of Noma, Incaelec, GHS, Whitepath, and Fargo, while expanding its global manufacturing footprint with new facilities in Poland, Morocco, and Mexico.

2018

A New Chapter with Cerberus

ECI is acquired by Cerberus Capital Management, providing additional capital to accelerate organic and inorganic growth, strengthen operational capabilities, and support continued expansion into new markets.

2019–2020

Strengthening the Global Footprint

ECI acquires NRI Electronics, opens two additional manufacturing facilities in Mexico, and establishes operations in Thailand, further strengthening its global manufacturing network.

2021

Expanding into Electrification & Advanced Safety

ECI acquires Omni Connection, Promark Electronics, and Rochester Industrial Controls (RIC), strengthening capabilities in advanced driver safety systems and high-voltage solutions for commercial electric vehicles.

2022

Entering High-Growth Industrial Markets

ECI acquires BHC Cable Assemblies, Britech, and Manufacturing Resource Group (MRG), expanding its capabilities across medical, aerospace, automation, semiconductor, and other high-growth industrial markets.

2023

Entering Aerospace

ECI acquires ASI (Aerosystems International), adding specialized electrical distribution and control systems for the aerospace industry.

2024

Expanding Market Access and Capabilities

ECI acquires Flex-Tec, strengthening its position in data centers, commercial lighting, smart infrastructure, and connected technologies.

ECI also opens a new manufacturing facility in Chonburi, Thailand, expanding support across the Asia-Pacific region.

2025

Joining Rosebank Industries

ECI becomes part of Rosebank Industries, supporting the next phase of strategic growth, innovation, and long-term investment across the global organization.

2026

Building What's Next

ECI opens its new Torreón, Mexico manufacturing facility while continuing to expand capabilities aligned with data centers, electrification, automation, and intelligent connected systems.

Mike Balsei

Chief Executive Officer

Mike Balsei is Chief Executive Officer of Electrical Components International, Inc. (ECI), where he is responsible for the strategic direction and operational leadership of the company.

Professional Experience

Mike has an extensive track record of leading global businesses in the electrical distribution systems industry, with deep experience in the industrial and automotive sectors. Prior to joining ECI, Mike led the Electrical Business Unit of Lear Corporation, where he played a pivotal role in driving improvements and profitable growth in the division. He managed all aspects of the business globally, which spanned 53 manufacturing plants across 25 countries with more than 65,000 employees. Previously, Mike was at Delphi Automotive PLC, now trading as Aptiv PLC, for over 17 years, most recently as President of the Electrical & Electronic Distribution Systems Business Unit where he was responsible for a global team of 110,000 employees across 60 manufacturing and engineering sites in 30 countries.

He started his career at General Motors in 1989 and served in various engineering and managerial roles for over 10 years. In addition, Mr. Balsei has spent over a decade of his career living and working in a variety of overseas assignments, with the majority of that time in Shanghai, China and Seoul, Korea.

Mike holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from The Ohio State University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Michigan.

Throughout his career, Diego has held executive leadership positions supporting financial strategy, mergers and acquisitions, operational excellence, and sustainable growth. His experience leading global organizations across Europe and the Americas has established him as a strategic business partner focused on creating long-term value through disciplined financial management and operational execution.
