Restoring 1,000 Vehicles in 3 Weeks Through Rapid Engineering Response

Recreational Vehicles Success Story

Background

A Safety Failure in Vehicles Already in the Field

A global golf cart manufacturer identified a critical braking system failure in vehicles already in service, forcing carts at customer locations into an unsafe operating status and out of use. After the incumbent harness supplier could not respond quickly enough, the customer issued an urgent resolution request to multiple suppliers.

ECI’s engineering team worked directly with the customer to rapidly define the rework requirements and develop a solution. While a typical program takes 8–12 weeks from quote to launch, ECI delivered parts in just 3 weeks, enabling the customer to begin returning affected vehicles to service.

Our Approach

A Cross-Functional Rapid-Response Mobilization

ECI assembled a full-company response and worked side by side with the customer to compress the timeline:

  • Mobilized a cross-functional rapid-response team spanning engineering, quality, purchasing, NPI, manufacturing, customer service, quoting, and sales.
  • Connected directly with the customer’s cross-functional teams to accelerate design decisions, approvals, and production changes.
  • Adapted internal workflows and approval paths in Mexico to support the compressed timeline.
  • Moved quickly from design and quoting through production and delivery.

Breakthrough Impact
